Become a Member

Any interested person is welcome to become a member and to participate in Society activities.

Membership entitles you to:

• Free admission to all public events, including guest speaker events.

• Free admission to Society nights - monthly gatherings for members.

• Access to the members’ area of this website.

• Monthly newsletter.

• Access to other privileges (e.g. the library)

Annual Fees:

Family $60 For parents and their children under the age of 18, or couples, living in the same household.
With Family memberships, voting rights are limited to two adults.
Adult $40 Anyone who is 18 yrs or older and not a student.
Junior $20 Under 18 yrs of age.
Student $20 Anyone who is currently a student (school, tertiary).
Pensioner $20 Receiving a pension.

If you are joining in March, April, May, June, July, or August…
…you can pay the above fee which will only take you through to the end of August (6 months or less of membership). Or, you can get better value by paying the annual fee plus 50%, to take you to the end of August in the subsequent year (12+ months). Please see table of fees below for this.

Look for the type of membership you want (Family, Adult, etc),
then look for the month you are joining in for the relevant fee to pay.
For example, for a family joining in May, you can pay $90, which will start you off with 15 months of membership.

Instructions

1. Please read the terms below by clicking on the button.

2. Find the relevant fee in the “MEMBERSHIP FEES” table above.

3. Make a note of the HAS account number for payment of the fee. This is shown below, but here it is for convenience:

   When making payment, in the reference and particulars please enter:
   > your surname in one of these (same as on application form so we can match this)
   > the membership type in the other - Adult, Family, Junior, Student, or Pensioner.

   Junior: under 18 yrs of age.
   Student: anyone who is currently a student (school, tertiary) .
   Adult: anyone who is 18 yrs or older and not a student.
   Family: for parents and their children under the age of 18, living in the same household. With family memberships, voting rights are limited to two adults.
   Pensioner: receiving a pension/gold card holder.

4. Fill in the online application form below, then click “Submit”. For a family membership, one member can enter their name and email, and you can enter the names of the other family members in the “message” box.

5. Make payment of the relevant amount into our bank account.

6. As soon as payment is received, new memberships are passed during the following monthly committee meeting, after which we will email your confirmation of membership.
